Working Of Solvent Based Extraction Equipment

A piece of solvent-based extraction equipment uses solvents such as CO2, alcohol/ethanol, and hydrocarbons like butane/propane.

These machines operate using the below general steps:

1. First, the raw material or matrix is soaked in the solvent. For maximum extraction, the material is first grounded.
2. The resulting solution, made up of the solvent and the components meant to be extracted, is then evaporated using heat and vacuum. The resulting substance from this step is a crude extract.
3. Finally, the crude extract can either be distilled or is further refined to create a purified final extract.
